The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This role involves routine cleaning tasks, special projects, and ensuring the overall cleanliness and upkeep of university facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and emptying trash in classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies, and ensure fixtures are in working order.
• Conduct deep cleaning projects, including carpet shampooing, window washing, and floor waxing as needed.
• Assist with setup and cleanup for university events, including arranging furniture and ensuring spaces are clean and presentable.
• Follow safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals and equipment properly.
• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department.
• Monitor and report inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial work preferred.
• Ability to perform during weekend and holidays with physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
