Food Service Worker - Dietary Department

We are seeking a Food Service Worker who is passionate about food service and committed to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and hospitality in our cafeteria and patient meal services.

In This Role, You Will:

• Ensure the cafeteria is clean, organized, and well-stocked at the beginning and end of each day.
• Prepare and plate food items for cafeteria service, including salads, sandwiches, desserts, and nourishments.
• Take food temperatures, taste test items, and ensure food readiness before service begins.
• Follow standardized cleaning, safety, and sanitation procedures, including the "clean-as-you-go" philosophy.
• Restock grab-and-go items and beverages during service hours.
• Assist with delivering and picking up food carts to and from patient care units at designated times.
• Operate the cash register during shifts and ensure cash drawer balances are maintained.
• Maintain cleanliness in all food service areas, including the doctor's lounge and registration area.
• Ensure coffee machines in the doctor's lounge and registration area are clean and operational.
• Perform special cleaning duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager.

What We're Looking For:

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience in healthcare or institutional food preparation preferred.
• Certification: Food Handlers' Certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Skills:
• Effective verbal and written communication in English (additional languages preferred).
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
• Basic computer knowledge.
