Looking for someone with experience in cleaning rooms and bathrooms, mopping main floors, and performing general housekeeping tasks.
Job Overview:
The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the general cleanliness of client main building, pool area, and other areas as assigned. Housekeepers maintain a clean, attractive, and safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors through a systematic application of cleaning procedures.
Qualifications:
Previous housekeeping/environmental services experience preferred.
Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment.
Must have the physical strength and stamina to work extended periods.
Must have excellent attention to detail and be able to follow through on all of their tasks.
Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
Must be proficient in the use of electronic communications, specifically email.
Working Conditions:
Able to work well independently with little supervision.
The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally push and/or pull equipment weight up to 100 pounds.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Cleans classrooms, chapels, restrooms, offices, guest suites, lounges, hallways, the elevator, the library according to established procedures and schedules.
Duties include: vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors, dusting, polishing, sanitizing bathroom areas, taking out trash, cleaning out refrigerators, and cleaning community spaces in the building, sweeps outside entryways when necessary.
Prepares guest rooms and suites when rooms are vacated according to standards.
Displays appropriate knowledge of occupational hazards and maintains OSHA required working environments.
Checks for items that are not operable and/or are in need of repair and reports maintenance issues to their supervisor.
Interfaces with other staff, faculty, students, and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
Keeps supervisor updated on progress of daily accomplishments.
Develops and maintains good working relationships and communicates positively and clearly with the other housekeepers.
Performs other duties as assigned.
