A Brief Overview The Food Service Associate I assembles, serves, and delivers food and supplies to patient care areas following all regulatory standards for food safety. The Food Service Associate I also washes dishes, pots and pans and puts them away. What you will do Cleaning & Maintenance Cleans, maintains, and assembles equipment ensuring proper usage. Administration Communicates issues or problems promptly to the supervisor. Cleaning & Maintenance Maintains work area in a clean, neat and orderly manner. Handwashing & Hygiene Practices good handwashing and personal hygiene including wearing clean uniforms, covering hair, and using gloves properly. Food Preparation Prepares, assembles and delivers food and supplies on time and according to lists or tallies, as needed. Food & Refrigeration Temp Records food and refrigeration temperatures accurately, including in kitchens and within units where there are patient refrigerators. Food Serving Serves food according to food regulatory standards for temperature, in the correct portion and presented in an attractive manner. Supplies Stores equipment and supplies according to standards. Food & Nutrition Transports or stores food safely, including covering, dating and labeling foods. Food Tray Delivery Completes all steps related to passing of patient food trays in a timely, courteous manner using clean technique. Qualifications Preferred High School Diploma/GED 1 year Healthcare or Hospitality Preferred 1 year Food Service - Institutional Preferred 1 year Customer Service Preferred Food Handler Certification - ServSafe while working in Illinois required Food Handler Certification - ServSafe while working in Indiana preferred Our people are passionate about what they do, the product they sell, and the customers they serve.
