Cook (Full-Time)

Duties

Embrace and help grow the mission of Pleasant Valley which is to "engage, inspire, and

empower each student towards academic excellence and citizenship".

Assist in planning, preparing and serving appropriate quantities of food to meet federal

menu requirements.

Maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation and safety practices.

Assist in completing state and federal reports and paperwork.

Work with local health agencies and stay compliant with health inspections and

licensure.

Assist the District Food Service Manager with identifying low stock, reordering, reporting

and other duties as assigned.

The Employer retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.

Qualifications

Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.

Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures.

Experience in a food service related field is strongly preferred.

Positive interpersonal skills with both staff and students.

Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with, or without,

reasonable accommodation including:

Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods.

Ability to frequently move boxes weighing up to 50 pounds for various needs.

Work in and around cold conditions such as a walk-in cooler.

Work in and around hot and noisy conditions in the kitchen.

Ability to work together as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Organized and able to multitask.

Must be extremely punctual.

35 hours per week, Monday through Friday

179 total working days per school year

12 sick days and 3 personal days per school year
