MacArthur Place Hotel & Spa in Sonoma, CA. is seeking a skilled Lead Line Cook to join our culinary team. This hands-on role involves leading kitchen operations, executing banquet events, and maintaining high standards in food preparation, safety, and presentation. Youll work across all stations, ensure smooth service, and support the Sous and Executive Chefs with training, quality control, and organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute cooking duties across all stations (grill, saute, Garde Manger, etc.) from start to finish.
Lead and coordinate kitchen team during service and events.
Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards.
Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and station cleanliness.
Support onboarding and training of junior staff and new hires.
Assist with inventory, prep, and minimizing waste.
Monitor stock levels, communicate ingredient needs, and assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
Collaborate with the culinary and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless guest service through timely and accurate setup, preparation, execution, and follow-through for an exceptional dining experience.
Comply with all company policies, including those related to attendance, grooming, conduct, and professional behavior.
Uphold the service and hospitality standards of MacArthur Place by interacting respectfully with both team members and guests, contributing to a welcoming and polished workplace.
Qualifications and Requirements:
3+ years line cook experience; 1+ year in a lead role preferred.
Culinary training and valid Food Handlers certification required.
Strong cooking skills, knife technique, and multitasking ability.
Leadership, communication, and teamwork essential.
Must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Fast-paced kitchen setting: requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive tasks such as chopping, sauteing, and plating for long periods. Exposure to heat, cold, noise, and outdoor conditions for events.
