Janitorial Worker 5PM-10PM Monday - Friday Job Description The janitorial worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within buildings by performing various cleaning tasks. The role involves using both light and heavy commercial cleaning equipment and ensuring that all surfaces are spotless and presentable. Responsibilities Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces inside buildings. Operate light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines. Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot clean daily and shampoo as directed. Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting. Wash windowsills, glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows. Clean and spot wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior. Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily; follow standard bathroom procedures. Monitor and report possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out to supervisors. Collect building trash daily and place it in approved containers for removal. Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers as specified. Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting sidewalks as directed. Perform periodic work such as high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and wall washing. Complete any and all other duties as assigned.
