Janitor (2nd Shift) Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a janitor, responsible for maintaining cleanliness in hospital rooms, particularly after patient discharges. You will be walking extensively, cleaning rooms, wiping down equipment, emptying trash, sweeping, dusting, and ensuring surfaces are sanitized. You will utilize hospital-issued iPhones to receive assignments and access cleaning tutorials if needed. Responsibilities Clean and sanitize hospital rooms, especially after patient discharges. Wipe down equipment, empty trash, sweep floors, and dust surfaces. Mop and clean spills as required. Learn and navigate multiple floors, ensuring attention to detail. Use hospital-issued iPhones to receive assignments and access cleaning tutorials. Essential Skills Experience with smartphone technology. Comfortable with extensive walking and being on feet for long periods. Attention to detail in cleaning tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous janitorial experience in healthcare or similar environment preferred. Willingness to work weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule. GED or high school diploma preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. Experience in a fast-paced environment is advantageous. Why Work Here? Employees must be patient and adaptable to the challenging environment, which may include seeing distressing situations. A robust background check is required. The work involves a lot of walking and standing throughout the hospital. The position operates on the 2nd shift from 5 pm to 1:30 am, Monday through Friday, with a rotating schedule for weekends and major holidays. Please note that it may take a few weeks before new hires receive their badges, so patience is essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
