Medical Dental Receptionist
Northern Counties Health Care is seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical/Dental Receptionist to join our team in Island Pond, Vermont. This is a full-time role (34 hours/week) and a great opportunity to support compassionate, community-based health and dental care.
Responsibilities:Reception & Patient Interaction
Greet patients warmly and provide information on services offered.
Answer incoming calls, triage inquiries, and forward messages appropriately.
Coordinate patient flow with the clinical and dental teams to ensure timely and efficient care.
Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with patients of all ages.
Scheduling & Registration
Schedule and confirm appointments in line with clinic policies.
Assist with referrals and specialist scheduling.
Register new patients and update existing records as needed in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Clerical & Records Management
Prepare and update patient medical and dental records.
Process requests for dental and medical records in compliance with privacy standards.
Collect payments, issue bills, and help with insurance claim processing.
Provide clerical support for quality assurance and audit activities.
Technology & Office Support
Use computers and office equipment to complete administrative tasks.
Support clinical staff with forms, reports, and general clerical needs.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: At least one year of receptionist experience preferred; dental/medical setting is a plus.
Skills: Strong multitasking ability, computer proficiency (e.g., EMR, email, spreadsheets), and strict confidentiality adherence.
Interpersonal: Must work well independently and as part of a team; effective and courteous communication is essential.
