The Guest Greeter courteously and professionally welcomes and assists patients, their families, and visitors, directing them to the appropriate healthcare services and locations within a Confluence Health Facility. Assists with inquiries and provides outstanding customer service in all interactions.

Position Reports To: Volunteer Customer Services Manager

Essential Functions

  1. Greets and converses with patients, visitors, and staff, directing them to the appropriate healthcare services location or provider offices.
  2. Observant and alert for patient/visitor needs for assistance at the entrances.
  3. Knowledgeable about Confluence Health services, personnel, and campus/hospital layout.
  4. Able to use EPIC to provide directions and information to patients and visitors as needed.
  5. Answers questions via telephone and in person.
  6. Maintains Flower logbook.
  7. Assist with lost and found items.
  8. Maintains daily visitor log.
  9. Reports monthly statistics
  10. Monitors the overall appearance of the facility entrance.
  11. Maintains Supplies
  12. Transports patients around the clinic/hospital campus, to and from appointments, only as needed.
  13. Creates workorders for repairs
  14. Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
  15. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required :

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Previous public contact experience required, ideally in a medical setting.
  • Ability to relate to the public in a warm and cheerful manner.
  • Ability to read, write and orally communicate effectively using the English language.
  • Must relate effectively with providers, staff, patients and public and function as part of a team.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision; to reason and think logically to solve problems; to use judgment and make decisions; to respond calmly in emergency situations; to maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information and able to function in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Continuous contact with ill patients. Interaction with public is constant and it is difficult to establish a routine. Stress of accomplishing a lot of work during a shift may occur. Overtime will rarely be required.
