Banquet Captains are experienced and the finest of banquet servers. This role leads other associates by coaching, giving direction and may include training. They are responsible for making the function space visually appealing and presenting the menu offering for the event. This may include linen and table setting, food station design, and beverage service. Other duties include general banquet preparation, room refreshes, and maintaining a sanitary environment.
The hourly rate for this position is $19.75/hour to $20.15/hour. The starting rate for this position is $19.75/hour. This position also has an established rate for colleagues who have remained in the position for four years or more with Hyatt, which is currently offered at $20.15/hour.
This position earns additional compensation through automatic service charges applied to banquet functions offering food & beverage. 16.5% of the taxable 25% service charge goes to the banquet service team and captains, and 8.5% of the 25% service charge is retained by the hotel.
