Valley Hi Nursing Home is seeking a part time Laundry Worker to join their team. The Laundry Worker is responsible for sorting, washing, folding, and distribution of linen and clothing for County nursing home residents.
Hours: 3 days or 22.5hrs per week.
Salary: $16.12 per hour
Job Functions
- Collects or receives soiled laundry; sorts and separates items such as towels, sheets, blankets, and clothing.
- Pre-treats laundry with stains or spots.
- Uses appropriate temperature and chemical control settings; adds soap and other solutions to the washing machine.
- Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions and garments and linen in need of repair.
- Maintains laundry rooms, carts, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, changes chemical barrels as needed, changes washing machine and dryer settings according to the type of laundry.
- Issues clean linens to assigned areas; stocks linen carts, places clean laundry in baskets and/or assigned areas to be picked up by or delivered to residents; delivers linens as necessary.
- Prevents spread of infection through proper handling and transporting of laundry and linens.
- Maintains strict confidentially of client information.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards.
- Interacts with residents, staff, and others within and outside the unit to exchange information and efficiently accomplish work assignments.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- No prior experience or training is required.
