- Reports to Recreation Supervisor
- Located at Eden Prairie Community Center
- Typical hours are during weeknights and weekends for at least 1-2 shifts per week.
Responsibilities
The Community Center Cafe and Rink Team Member is responsible for providing customer support and assistance to individuals at the Community Center through a variety of roles. The position responsibilities and areas of impact are cafe operations, monitoring ice rinks and assisting for special events. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:
- Provides high quality customer service by consistently exhibiting an enthusiastic and eager focus to members that is prompt and courteous, responding to questions with accurate information or referring them to an appropriate contact.
- Operates concessions at the EPCC and Mobile Cafe by adhering to standards, policies and procedures, health codes and regulations. Maintains and ensures a safe, friendly environment for patrons at the concession area.
- Works as rink attendant for open skate, kids open skate, and adult open skate programs by ensuring patrons have paid daily fee and are adhering to ice rink policies.
- Maintains a safe, friendly, and enjoyable environment for patrons by adhering to standards, policies and procedures. Maintains the skate rental area and skating rinks by informing customers of useful information and updates relative to the established guidelines and enforcing rules.
While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.
Requirements
- One to two years of related experience is preferred.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-to-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- This position requires the ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 50 lbs, and the ability to bend/stand/reach.
- Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City's evaluation of the pre-employment process prior to their first day of employment.
