Building Maintenance Technician Job Description The Building Maintenance Technician provides routine and specialized repair and maintenance support for hospital equipment and properties. Utilizing a computerized maintenance management system, the technician identifies and corrects problems in mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control systems. This role also offers technical support and guidance to facility staff in the repair and operation of equipment, components, and utilities. Responsibilities Perform routine and specialized building repair and maintenance for hospital facilities and equipment. Utilize computerized maintenance management systems to identify and correct mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control system issues. Provide technical support and general guidance to facility staff. Participate in hospital and departmental safety programs, educational opportunities, and related training. Essential Skills Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Facility maintenance and troubleshooting expertise. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and utility systems. Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficient in the use of computerized systems for job performance. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
