Starting pay: $15.12 Who We Need The Baker is responsible for the preparation and execution of food in accordance with standards, maintaining sanitation, cleanliness, and methods of cooking, preparation, proper personal hygiene and communication with kitchen management. Must thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while remaining positive and upbeat, and can handle requests on a timely basis. Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and a certification for an accredited or recognized culinary school, college, or comparable institution, preferred. Minimum one (1) year of relevant work experience. Experience with persons with disabilities preferred but not required. Must be able to communicate clearly with Chef, all managers, kitchen and dining room personnel. Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time. May be required to perform diverse physical tasks, including constant standing and walking, heavy lifting (30-50 lbs), etc. Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance and meet agency personnel requirements. Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening. Ability to meet Copa Health driver eligibility requirements, as applicable. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Job Summary (Including, but not limited to) Demonstrate good oral, written and electronic communication. Communicate with integrity and honesty, clearly and concisely, and in a respectful manner to all team members. Communicate information to others in a positive, enthusiastic and understandable method. Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards. Control food usage by following standard recipes and proper waste control. Maintain hourly productivity, there is always something to do. Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and report when maintenance is needed. Always use safe operation standards of all kitchen standards, equipment and utensils. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation practices of all kitchen areas. Maintain proper food holding and cooking according to customers' requests. Follow all food guidelines set by the Kitchen Management Team (KMT) Keep open and clear communication with KMT about food control, proper cooking, preparation needs and all things concerning the kitchen/restaurant. Maintain proper uniform requirements and personal hygiene. Have knowledge of allergens in items specific to designated stations. Prepare Bake Goods from Scratch. Fill and decorate pastries and desserts. Plate and set up dessert arrangements. Familiar with a variety of kitchen equipment and measuring utensils. Have basic task knowledge of mixing, kneading, measuring and decorating.
