Position Overview:

Hyatt Centric restaurants, Brick & Beam and The Wardroom located in the iconic neighborhood of Fisherman's Wharf, is looking for a Part Time Host. Must be friendly, punctual, and a team player, restaurant experience preferred in a fast paced, elegant setting. This position reports to the Restaurant Management team and requires solid organizational and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure.

THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION

Key Responsibilities:

• Know and be able to speak eloquently about the hotel and restaurant menu items.
• Gain insights into a guest's dining preference through verbal and nonverbal cues.
• Maintain the ambiance and service standards of the hotel throughout the dining experience.
• Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
• Prepare the room for dining by preparing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, polishing glassware, and polishing utensils.
• Assist dining room team in tracking and recording guest preferences in guest profiles.
• Support servers in satisfying guest needs by taking direction and helping to serve all items.
• Assist with food and drink delivery when called upon.
• Respond to additional guest requirements by inquiring about needs and observing the dining process.

• Conclude dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant and inviting patrons to return.
• Stock and restock service stations as needed.
• Ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems preferred.

• Ability to exercise personal discipline and extra diligence to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications:

• Capability of offering a charismatic and friendly style of service tailored to specific guests and their needs, building a rapport with guests to establish future business.
• The ability to motivate and inspire others to work cooperatively to achieve a designated goal.

• Be respectful and courteous to all colleagues and guests.

• The ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent Hotel data.
• The ability to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and colleagues.

Qualification Standards:

• High school or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of high-end hotel restaurant experience preferred.
• RBS and ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• All colleagues must maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill necessary tasks.
• Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours in length.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Wage Rate : $20.21 per hour
