Job SummaryThe position will perform a variety of tasks such as preparation of large quantities of food following standardized recipes and prep sheets. Position will also assist in the replenishment of food and serving of food. This position will also handle financial aspects of the business such as cashiering, inventory, etc. Responsible for cash handling, reconciliation, and register till accuracy. May direct and participate in the work of the Food Service Worker I and II. This position's primary area of work will be in the catering department. This work includes assisting in the preparation of the food service facility for the serving of food, the preliminary preparation of food items, counting and setting out an appropriate number of food trays, and setting out food and beverages according to established procedures. Assisting in the serving of students, faculty, staff, and community members. Because of the financial aspects, this position will require a credit check.
Responsibilities 1. -
Setting up and executing catering duties. This is to include preparing pack-outs of catering events. Set up and take down catering functions. Cleaning of catering equipment, to include polishing dinnerware equipment, and china/silverware detailing.

Monitors, controls, and records the quantity of food products produced and leftover each day..

Assist in the on-the-job training of new hires and designated food service employees.

Any and all other duties as assigned. Set up and maintain all station sanitation requirements. Ensure that all work areas and serving areas are in clean, sanitary and safe condition.
Educational Requirements
High School / GED
Required Experience
Minimum of one year work experience in a related field. Strong working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and general workplace safety standards with knowledge of Health Department requirements. Ability to respond to common food inquiries or complaints from customers and take appropriate action to resolve issues. Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in a group environment, treating employees and customers. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse population. with respect. Ability to be a flexible team player in a dynamic environment requiring a customer focused approach and utilizing excellent facilitation and coaching skills. Must successfully pass a credit check due to the financial aspects of this role.
Preferred Experience
Some post secondary education preferred. Two to three years of work experience in the food service industry is preferred. Prior institutional food service experience a plus. Knowledge of OSHA regulations. Basic computer proficiency in word-processing and spreadsheets (Microsoft Office Products, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).ServSafe certification and HACCP certification.
Supervisory experience preferred.
$13.22 - $16.50 Hourly. Paid on a Bi-Weekly Basis.
