Fiasco on Main is seeking professional and enthusiastic Servers to provide an exceptional dining experience in our upscale casual restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of hospitality expertise, technical skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide an exceptional guest experience by anticipating customer needs and delivering personalized service.
- Present menus, answer questions about dishes, and offer recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Upsell menu items, daily specials, and wine or cocktail pairings to enhance the dining experience.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, relay them to the kitchen or bar, and ensure timely delivery to tables.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, allergens, and pairings.
- Manage multiple tables efficiently while maintaining high standards of service.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down dining areas, ensuring cleanliness and readiness at all times.
- Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines as required by local regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to create a seamless and memorable dining experience.
**Qualifications**
**Knowledge Requirements:**
Extensive knowledge of food, wine, and cocktails, with the ability to explain and recommend pairings.
Familiarity with dietary restrictions, allergens, and substitutions.
Understanding of fine dining service standards and etiquette.
**Customer Experience Skills:**
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to build rapport with guests and provide personalized recommendations.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a customer-first mindset.
Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced environment.
**Technical Skill Proficiency:**
Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems for accurate order entry and payment processing.
Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and splitting checks.
Proficiency in using reservation management systems (if applicable).
**Other Qualifications:**
Prior experience as a server in a fine dining or upscale casual restaurant.
Current MAST and ServSafe food handler's certification
Knowledge of wine and spirits (e.g., WSET Level 1 or equivalent).
**Physical Requirements:**
Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays or dishes for extended periods.
Capacity to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
