North Orange County ROP is seeking a Maintenance Worker II to perform custodial tasks and facilities maintenance. Coordinates and reviews the activities of maintenance workers during the maintenance of facilities, vehicles and grounds. Performs custodial activities, maintain buildings and adjacent areas in clean, orderly and secure condition. Secures facilities in accordance with policies and procedures. Performs the more complex maintenance tasks or arranges for vendors to complete contracted maintenance/repair tasks.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & TRAINING: Required: A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five years related custodial and maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Training courses in general plumbing and electricity are desirable.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES: The incumbent is required to maintain a valid Class C or Class 3 California driver's license and acceptable driving records to perform deliveries or travel to various facilities. Valid forklift operator certification. (This can be obtained after starting the position.)

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: The following physical and mental requirements described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of employees assigned to this position. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, and/or operate standard maintenance tools and equipment. The mental requirements for this position include the ability to do the following regularly for short or long periods: accept criticism and feedback on performance; analyze and solve problems; collaborate and interact successfully with various groups of people encountered in the course of work; learn and apply new information or skills; make observations; read and interpret information; use mathematical reasoning; use oral and written communication skills; work on multiple, concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions; and work under intensive deadlines and meet productivity requirements.
