Salary: $14.70 per hour
The Amerind Foundation is seeking an individual for Custodian/Groundskeeper at the Amerind Museum in Dragoon, Arizona. This is 40 hours per week position. The Custodian/Groundskeeper maintains clean, sanitary, safe, and attractive buildings and grounds for Amerind Museum visitors and staff. Indoor custodial work duties include, but are not limited to, sweeping, mopping and using vacuum cleaners; washing or dusting walls, windows, woodwork and fixtures; cleaning bathrooms; emptying trash receptacles; moving furnishings; replacing lights; painting, and other duties. Outdoor work includes, but is not limited to, mowing; weeding; road maintenance; sweeping, and other duties. Job requires the operation of lawn mowers, shovels, rakes, and weed-eaters. Employee will perform related duties as assigned. Applicants should be able to stand, bend, sit, kneel, lift, reach and move about quickly, pick-up, manipulate, move, raise and lower heavy materials (up to 75 pounds), equipment, and supplies; to climb ladders to heights of 10 feet; operate the full range of maintenance equipment that is typically required of these job duties. Employee must be over 18 years of age and exercise some independent judgment in completing assigned tasks. This position has a work schedule of 8:00 am-5:00 pm, 5 days per week. Employee reports to the Head of Maintenance.
Experience and Education: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
License or Certificate: Possession of a valid Arizona's driver's license. Employee must have reliable transportation.
