Our Sous Chefs are skilled culinary professionals who assist the Executive Chef in running the kitchen, preparing food, and managing staff. They are hands-on, involved in food preparation, and responsible for maintaining quality and consistency. Additionally, they may supervise kitchen staff and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Pay Transparency: The current starting salary range is $60k to $70k annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. The total comp package yearly can include 12 days PTO, 40 hrs of sick time, 6 recognized holidays, 401k match of up to 7%, Pet insurance, EPA benefits, 30% discount, and so much more!
Key Responsibilities:
Food Preparation: Prepares food items for various areas like the cold case, salad bar, and hot bar, following production sheets and recipes.
Quality Control: Ensures food quality, consistency, and freshness by following recipes, labeling, dating, and rotating items.
Food Management: Monitors food levels, replenishes supplies, and manages inventory.
Staff Supervision: Supervises and trains assistant chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff.
Customer Service: May assist with customer service, answering questions, and providing excellent service.
Sanitation and Safety: Maintains a clean and sanitary work environment, ensuring adherence to health and sanitation standards.
Sales Potential: Maximizes sales by ensuring proper stocking, merchandising, and rotation of products.
Ideal Candidates possess:
Ability to follow recipes and production sheets accurately
4+ years of culinary, kitchen, or restaurant experience
Likes to create food that inspires others
Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Adaptability to varying environments (Freezer to Fridge to food prep area)
