POSITION: Groundskeeper, Grade 3

LOCATION: Plant Operations

WORK YEAR: 2025-2026

SALARY RANGE: $24.70 (during probationary period the wage rate will be 5% less)

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Graduate or equivalent. Must be able to lift 100 pounds (with assistance), able to operate grounds machinery, and a valid commercial driver's license (Level B) within one year after hire date.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position supports the Grounds Foreman in maintaining school district ground, including lawns, shrubs, trees, flower beds, playgrounds and athletic fields in a well-groomed condition. This position is also responsible for assisting the Grounds Foremen in the maintenance and repair of grounds equipment and the proper application of fertilizers and other lawn/shrub/tree care products on school district property. This position also assists in snow and ice removal operations. During inclement weather and as needed may be assigned to work inside schools cleaning or moving school property. Must follow all safety rules and regulations, industry standard practices and federal/state and school district policies as outlined in the NSD Custodial Handbook or provided in training and orientation.
