POSITION SUMMARY

JOB DESCRIPTION: Receives and serves guest beverage requests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintains assigned cash register and bank per shift.
2. Responsible for serving and mixing alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests and wait staff following established recipes.
3. Understands and adheres to all rules and regulations pertaining to the department.
4. Maintains a clean work station or area including ash trays, glasses and bar tops.
5. Checks I.D.s for age and authenticity.
6. Discontinues service according to the law.
7. Maintains inventory controls.
8. Restocks beer coolers liquor and other bar supplies.
9. Provides answers to guests questions and inquiries about the Casino.
10. Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
11. Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
12. Maintains confidentiality at all times.
13. Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
14. Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
15. Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Previous bartending experience and cash handling helpful.
2. Knowledgeable about drink ingredients and mixtures.
3. Knowledgeable about current alcohol and tobacco laws.
4. Excellent time management, organizational, public relations and communications skills.
5. Ability to work flexible hours, rotating shifts, weekends and holidays

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Physically capable of remaining on feet for long periods of time
2. Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
3. Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment and alcohol establishment.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS

Education Required: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience: No prior experience required.

Computer Skills:

Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass a criminal background check, and submit to drug testing.
