Cemetery Groundskeeper

We are currently hiring a Cemetery Groundskeeper for a contract position through December in Seagoville, Texas (75159) . This role pays $16.00 per hour and is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a respectful and peaceful environment. The position provides overall grounds and maintenance services to support burial operations, landscaping, and the installation of burial markers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with openings and closings for burials, entombments, and inurnments
• Use groundskeeping tools such as mowers, weed eaters, and blowers
• Dig graves, place headstones, haul dirt, and assist in setup and teardown of gravesites
• Set, install, and assemble burial foundations, memorials, and markers
• Complete work orders related to grave and marker maintenance
• Prepare and maintain a clean, presentable 25-foot radius around burial areas
• Fill graves and finish surfaces with seed or sod
• Follow all company safety protocols and Universal Precautions
• Keep the work area clean and organized
• Complete required training and adhere to service standards
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience in grounds maintenance or related field
• Skilled in using hand tools such as shovels, picks, rakes, sledgehammers, lawn mowers, weed trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, and pumps
• Able to accurately use measuring tools like tape measures and yardsticks
• Strong communication skills and ability to work respectfully with team members and client families
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Available to work 40 hours per week, with flexibility for overtime as needed.
