Custodian

Maintains a clean, safe, and functional school environment. They perform daily cleaning duties, minor repairs, and ensure the proper functioning of building systems. This includes cleaning classrooms, hallways, and restrooms, as well as managing supplies and equipment.Responsibilities:Cleaning:Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting all areas of the school.Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms.Vacuuming and shampooing carpets.Cleaning and restocking restroom supplies.Emptying trash receptacles and bags trash for proper disposal.Maintenance:Performing routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies.Minor repairs, such as fixing loose screws or replacing lightbulbs.Reporting necessary maintenance and repair requests.Maintaining tools and equipment in clean working order.Other Duties:Opening and securing the building.Setting up facilities for school events.Moving materials, equipment, and furniture.Assisting with emergency procedures.Observing and reporting safety hazards.Providing basic customer service to students, faculty, and visitors.May be required to lift and carry items.May be required to work evenings or weekends for special events.Equipment Operation:Operating floor scrubbers, buffers, carpet cleaners, and vacuum cleaners.May operate other power and hand tools.
