Floor Care Technician

The Environmental Services Floor Care Technician ensures a clean and aseptic area within the hospital for the safety, health, and morale of patients, visitors, and employees by performing various housekeeping and other duties. The position will require safe handling of cleaning chemicals and solutions and ability to operate floor cleaning equipment.

1st shift, coverage as needed

2nd and 3rd shift, coverage as needed

• Education : High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• Experience : Previous hospital or commercial floor cleaning experience highly preferred.
• Skills Required : Must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate with patients and staff in English.

  • Operating floor cleaning equipment:

    • Auto-scrubbers

    • Buffers/burnishers

    • Extractors

    • Wet/dry vacuums

    • Carpet cleaning machines

  • Stripping and waxing floors

  • Carpet shampooing and extraction

  • Stain removal techniques

  • Spot cleaning

  • Floor sealing and polishing
