Host/Hostess Lead - Pausa in San Mateo seeking experienced Maitre d'

Pausa Bar & Cookery is now hiring a lead host/hostess to join our team. We prefer at least 2 years of hosting experience in a fine-dining restaurant, with a fast-paced environment and an extensive knowledge of OpenTable reservation system. The position has expeditious growth opportunities.

Our ideal team members are self-starters and motivated to create memorable dining experiences for our valued customers. Creativity, curiosity, aiming to perform at your best, and bringing a positive energy to every shift are all essential.

We are looking for a full-time team player who thrives in a busy, high sales environment. And most importantly, we are looking for people that love to learn and are team oriented. We are open for dinner seven nights a week. All tips are paid out, in cash, after every shift and earnings are up to $50 per hour.

Located in downtown San Mateo, Pausa has been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand for consecutive years: 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024. We opened our doors just over 8 years ago and take pride in our contemporary and authentic Italian cuisine, craft cocktails, extensive wine list, exceptional customer service, and a team-centered mentality.
