This posting is for a full-time, 12-month, 40 hours per week, non-exempt position. The position is responsible for oversight, maintenance and upkeep of UF Main Campus, campus grounds and other University owned property, trash pickup, general maintenance, transportation, and servicing of University equipment and vehicles.
Essential Functions
This position requires regular, as scheduled, reliable attendance in the campus environment.
1. Strong Organizational and Communication skills

3. Mowing and trimming of grounds
4. Regular communication with applicable subcontractors
5. Maintaining a professional and organized shop/maintenance area
6. Landscape maintenance including fertilizer application
7. Snow removal
8. Equipment/ vehicle maintenance
9. Trash pickup
10. Supervising and job planning of student and summer helper
11. Assist w/ Athletic field maintenance/planning
12. Irrigation system management
13. Flower maintenance (including planning, installation, watering)
14. Perform all other duties deemed appropriate for the position

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at campus job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks; and be able to frequently lift 50 pounds of weight throughout the assigned workday.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time (FTE) 12-month position and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This position may require evening and weekend work.
Travel
Travel is an expectation of this position. A valid drivers license and a safe driving record required.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma.
