Haymarket is a new cafe and market housed in a beautifully restored 1875 church in the Catskills. We serve seasonal breakfast and lunch, carefully crafted coffee and tea drinks, and thoughtfully selected pantry items to enjoy at home. At Haymarket, were creating a welcoming space that brings together food, community, and craftand were building a team that shares that vision.

Position Overview:
Were looking for an experienced Barista to join our opening front-of-house team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about coffee and hospitality, enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and takes pride in the details of creating a great guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare high-quality espresso and coffee beverages with consistency and care
• Set up and maintain the coffee bar and service area throughout the day
• Engage warmly with guests, offering knowledgeable and friendly service
• Manage daily prep and restocking of barista station, pastries, and grab-and-go items
• Work closely with the kitchen and retail teams to ensure smooth service
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the cafe
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
• Contribute to the overall rhythm and energy of the cafe
  
  

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of barista experience in a specialty coffee or cafe setting
• Knowledge of espresso preparation, milk steaming, and general coffee service
• Enthusiasm for customer service and hospitality
• Punctual, reliable, and comfortable in a collaborative team environment
• Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy shifts
• Interest in food, design, and community a plus
• Availability on weekends and holidays preferred
