Job DescriptionSummary The Battery Room Attendant is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and sanitation of the battery room and lift equipment. This role supports plant operations by ensuring all powered industrial trucks are fully charged and in safe working condition. This individual must be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently or in a team. This role has a responsibility for ensuring both food safety and the quality of Chobani product. Responsibilities Maintain sanitation and general housekeeping of the battery room. Monitor and perform battery changes for lift trucks (LTOs) across the facility. Complete and file daily inspection logs; remove defective lifts from service when necessary. Perform basic maintenance tasks on lift equipment (e.g., cleaning, painting). Contact the lift service provider for routine maintenance or emergency repairs. Follow Chobanis safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times. Communicate effectively with team members, leads, supervisors, and managers. Support other departments as needed; flexible to work in various areas and shifts. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Competency Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. 1-3 years of experience operating lift trucks in a warehouse or manufacturing setting. Familiarity with safety protocols and maintenance of battery-operated equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Basic computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office (especially Excel), WMS , or MRP systems is a plus. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 60 pounds on an occasional basis. Ability to stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods, up to 12 hours per shift. Must be able to safely navigate wet, uneven, or slippery floors and ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs. Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed to inspect equipment or perform hands-on tasks. Ability to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment ( PPE ), including but not limited to gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, and respiratory protection when required.
