Job Summary Summary: Under the supervision of the Manager and Director of Environmental Services, the Groundskeeper will perform a variety of Groundskeeper functions, including but not limited to litter pick-up, cultivating, trimming of shrubs and small trees, fertilizing, planting and minor irrigation repair. Does this position require Patient Care? No. Essential Functions: Operate, clean and maintain all yard equipment. (lawn mowers, leaf blowers...etc.). -Prepare and water flower boxes and beds, prune, trim trees and shrubbery. -Plant grass, mow, weed, rake, hedge trim, plant flowers, sweep walkways and parking lots, remove litter, and upkeep outdoor furniture. -Work inside buildings during inclement weather by sweeping, mopping, cleaning, etc., as directed by Supervisor. -Actively participates in snow removal and storm preparation. (must know how to operate snow blower, power sweeper and general snow removal tools). -Maintains Safety of Physical Plant. -Responds to fire alarms and assist Fire Department. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Must be able to read, write legibly, speak clearly and understand the English language. - Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion. - Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. - Must possess the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel and the general public. - Able to follow oral and written instructions. - Ability to read and speak English. - Must have a current driver's license. - Must have familiarity with hand and power tools. - Able to follow operational manuals and instructional manuals and instruction.
