We are looking for an experienced, charismatic and friendly candidate to fill a full time bartender position at Nepenthe Restaurant.

The ideal candidate would have experience mixing, pouring and serving a variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. They would also have beer, spirit and extensive wine knowledge. This person would have excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure, is detail oriented, and can work in a fast paced environment.
The position requires the individual to be on their feet, standing and walking for 6-8 hours and carrying items that may weigh 1 to 25lbs consistently throughout their shift. Nepenthe Restaurant can be a very busy, often loud, crowded environment and we are looking for an individual who can stay focused and on task while maintaining the ability to switch gears and help out when needed.

Situated in the world-renowned beauty of the Big Sur coast line, Nepenthe Restaurant, Cafe Kevah and the Phoenix shop are all located on the same property 30 miles south of Carmel overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Nepenthe was founded in 1949, the Phoenix shop was opened in 1964 and the Cafe Kevah was opened in 1992, all which are still operated by the children and grandchildren of the founders, who are carrying on the traditions of family hospitality - a hallmark of the business.
