YOUR MISSION (The Job Description):
The Food Runner will support the food and beverage operation of the outlet through timely bussing and resetting of tables, running food and beverages, engage in polite, responsive, and timely interaction with guests and coworkers including basic menu descriptions, in addition to other responsibilities as directed by server or supervisor while maintaining a positive attitude that contributes to the team environment.
THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties):
- Ensure that items are fully stocked, and equipment is in good working condition
- Strong knowledge and consistent use of SNHD regulations and standards
- Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively in a team
- Consistently maintains a clean and safe work area for self and other team members
- Participate in seamless operation between BOH + FOH staff members, ensuring proper service to our guests
- Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
- Support the server by running food and drinks as instructed by teammates including culinary, server, bartender, supervisor, etc.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized work environment including stocking of supplies, polishing cutlery/glassware, folding napkins, cleaning menus, sanitizing tables, etc.
- Clear tables, carry plates to the dishwashing area
- Prepare basic, non-alcoholic beverages such as coffee, water, iced tea, etc.
- Explain basic details of food dishes and beverages at time of delivery to guests
- Perform to high standards of excellence, execution, and cleanliness
- Always keep your active SNHD Food Handler's card with you while on the property
- Execute proper health and safety protocols while operating equipment, handling food, storing food, maintaining temperature & time control logs, and sanitizing as dictated by the SNHD
- Report health and safety incidents and concerns directly to leadership in an accurate and timely manner
- Contribute to successful SNHD health inspections
- Monitor and ensure cleanliness of all place settings, tabletops, seats, and floor
- Perform customer service duties as assigned (such as beverage and plate service).
- Communicate with cashier and servers for needs and any guest service issues.
- Actively participate in all scheduled required training sessions
WHAT IT TAKES (The Qualities We Look For)
- Strong communication skills, inclusive of spelling and grammar in English
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently through the Kitchen
- Will work in hot and cold, confined, or cramped spaces
- Work environment is noisy, must constantly receive and communicate information
- Ability to bend, stoop, balance, and reach is necessary
- Job requires lifting/carrying max weight of 30lbs
- Stand for a period of 8 to 10 hours continuously
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Manual dexterity, able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
- A team player with good communication skills
- Patient with the ability to stay positive under pressure
MUST HAVE'S
- Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
- High school or equivalent education required
- Food Service Handler Card and TABC certification that is currently valid for a minimum of at least 6 months
- Minimum 3 years of Food & Beverage experience
- Familiarity with superior customer service skills required
- Ability to communicate in English clearly and pleasantly with guests, management/co-workers, both in person and on the telephone

- Ability to work a flexible schedule
THE WORKING CONDITIONS
- L ift and carry 50 lbs, carry and balance plates, carry kegs, wine, and beer cases as necessary
- Stand for periods of 8-10 hours
- Communicate clearly in verbal and written English
- Bend, squat and stretch in areas of limited space to perform cleaning, organization, and other duties
- Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, smoke, and sound. Incumbents are at times subject to hazards such as chemicals; proper safety precautions will be taken. This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather. Proper clothing is provided
