Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Building Maintenance Technician to join our Warrenville corporate team. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of our building. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, mechanically inclined, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls from staff.
  • Diagnose and repair minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC issues.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and general appearance of the facility, including common areas and outdoor spaces.
  • Monitor and maintain building security systems, alarms, and keycard access.
  • Assist with office moves, furniture assembly, and general handyman tasks.
  • Work with and coordinate outside contractors as needed for specialized repairs or projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, building codes, and regulations.
  • Solicit quotes and create comparison tables for various building services as required during the bidding phase.
  • Interface with external property management company efficiently and effectively to ensure smooth support through the building(s).

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability for occasional on-call duties, emergencies, or weekend shifts.
  • O365 proficiency is preferred

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • EPA 608 Certification (for HVAC techs)
  • OSHA 10/30 Certification

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks (bending, climbing ladders, etc.)
  • Able to climb a 15-ft vertical ladder
