Description
The Hostperson/Cashier in the Red Lantern restaurant is responsible for greeting and seating Guests arriving at the restaurant, including updating table statuses using the reservation system and managing the Guest wait list and reservations. The Hostperson/Cashier will also process and tender High Limit Room VIP to-go orders and to-go orders from the front cashier register counter. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions:
Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort's "ELITE" company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
Greet Guests at the restaurant entrance verbally with a warm welcome and inquire about the number in their party. Advise Guests of waiting time if necessary.
Seat parties evenly throughout open stations, or place parties on a waiting list using established guidelines. Present menus to Guests.
Organize parties waiting to be seated, and update table status using the reservation system.
Control the flow of business by practicing rotation seating, anticipating table turns, and following the reservation and seating plan.
Update open station statuses, station templates, and assign servers to stations following the daily labor allocation sheet.
Communicate with servers, bus persons, and management on room coordination.
Take and process Guest to-go orders into point-of-sale (POS), and process Guest checks following established procedures and proper tendering of transactions.
Perform tasks including bussing and resetting tables, side work, and duties assigned by management.
Acknowledge all departing Guests and invite them to return.
Answer the telephone in a timely, pleasant, and courteous manner.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and lobby area throughout the shift.
Ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed and adhered to at all times.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
Proficiency to communicate in Cantonese or Mandarin
Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred.
Must be able to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
Ability to interact with touch screen technology and utilize computerized reservation system.
Ability to exhibit a consistent level of professionalism in all Guest interactions.
At least 18 years of age.
Ability to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
Physical Requirements:
Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols, including at night.
Requires bending and reaching for supplies and equipment.
Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of shift.
Ability to lift, handle, and carry up to 25 lbs.
Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
