The JOB
The Banquet Captain is responsible for the successful execution of all banquet events, ensuring that guest expectations are exceeded and that team members are well-directed and supported. This position serves as the primary liaison between the banquet staff, kitchen, and event planners to ensure seamless communication, timely service, and elevated guest experiences. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
Supervise, train, and support banquet servers and bartenders before, during, and after events.
Execute banquet functions in accordance with event orders, resort standards, and client expectations.
Communicate event details to team members and ensure proper setup, service, and breakdown of events.
Greet clients and serve as the main point of contact during events to ensure satisfaction.
Maintain constant communication with the kitchen and banquet manager to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor service quality and timing, adjusting team assignments and flow as necessary.
Conduct pre-shift briefings to review event details, assignments, and service standards.
Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety of banquet facilities and storage areas.
Maintain accurate event paperwork, service notes, and guest feedback.
Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues as needed.
Assist in inventory control of banquet equipment and supplies.
Uphold all safety and sanitation standards as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
Needs flexible availability, includes evenings, weekends and holidays. Anyone unable to work weekends will not be considered.
