Elmira College is a private liberal arts College located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Seeking innovative professionals from diverse backgrounds to fill the position of Groundskeeper-Laborer to join the Facilities team.
The Grounds position consists of maintaining the aesthetic standards set forth by Elmira College inside and outside. This position will be responsible for activities such as mowing and trimming, mulching, and other outdoor landscaping activities. This position will include snow and ice removal throughout the winter months. Additional duties include, garbage pickup and disposal on campus and assisting with set-ups and moves campus wide.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Mowing;
- Planting grass, flowers, trees and shrubs;
- Snow removal, manual and with machinery;
- Set-ups for special events;
- Assist with moving office furniture;
- Garbage removal from College owned properties;
- General maintenance of grounds equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history;
- Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds;
- Flexible availability including, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed;
- Landscaping knowledge/experience preferred.
WORK LOCATION: Elmira, NY
COMPENSATION: $16 per hour
This position is benefit eligible.
