This position provides complex maintenance and repairs of streets, sidewalks, curbs, lanes, and shoulders.

- Breaks up concrete and asphalt, digs trenches and holes using various hand power tools.
- Prepares the subgrade for pouring concrete, laying asphalt, laying brick, etc.
- Mixes mortar and concrete by using a portable concrete mixer or wheelbarrow.
- Places concrete into forms or post holes by transporting concrete to the pour location via wheelbarrow or bucket.
- Cuts trees, weeds, and brush using a chainsaw, pole saw, hand saw, shears, etc.
- Loads and unloads tools and materials from a storage location to a vehicle and/or from a vehicle to the worksite and vice versa.
- Lowers or raises tools and material into or out of holes, excavations, etc.
- Lifts and positions material either manually or with the help of lifting aids.
- Lays concrete block/brick, constructs or repairs brick sidewalks and other miscellaneous structures.
- Shovels sand, soil, gravel, asphalt, concrete, and other miscellaneous materials; fills and places sandbags, as needed.
- Sweeps and cleans sidewalks and roadways.
- Assists in setting up traffic control devices.
- Removes rocks, branches, trash, and other debris from the rights-of-way.
- Drives pickups, trucks & non-commercial dump trucks.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED; with six months of experience in general grounds maintenance and/or maintenance/construction of streets, sidewalks, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
Additional Requirements
Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post-offer/pre-employment medical screen, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
