Reports to Operations Supervisor
The role of the PK-4 Head Custodian position is to maintain the structure, finishes, grounds, systems, and equipment of a school district facility in a safe, clean, and orderly condition of full operating excellence at all times in support of the educational program and all related activities.
**Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions**
Maintains facility security in accordance with district policies and procedures.
Performs routine cleaning of assigned facility, including but not limited to public areas, classrooms, offices, and restrooms.
Provides upkeep to the grounds of the facility, including but not limited to clearing pedestrian walkways of snow, ice, and debris, weed control, pruning, litter removal, and general repair items related to the essential function of the facility.
Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance to the facility in a scheduled and timely fashion, including but not limited to HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and facility structure and finishes, security and fire alarm systems, and related equipment.
Operates all heating, cooling, electrical, security, and fire alarms.
Delegates appropriate tasks to Utility and/or cleaning personnel, coordinate the activity of said personnel, provide knowledge support and monitor the progress and completion of these tasks.
Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Communicates and interacts appropriately with building and central office administration and staff, co-workers, supervisors, students, parents, and other members of the public.
Assists other Operations Department staff, including but not limited to procedure training, duty coverage, and assistance.
Maintains an adequate and accurate inventory of all equipment, materials, and supplies and places orders promptly to restock the same.
Maintains all relevant paperwork in accordance with district policies and regulations, including but not limited to safety and maintenance records, timesheets, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) binders, and other documents as required by law.
Actively interacts with all Operations Department computer systems, including but not limited to timesheets, online forms, online training, work orders, electronic mail, and building automation systems.
Available for emergencies and projects that may require overtime work beyond normally scheduled hours.
Reports all safety, operational, and work-related concerns to immediate supervisor, designated supervisor, or Director of Operations in accordance with district policies and procedures.
Participates actively in meetings, activities, and in-service training opportunities and utilizes information receive
