Applications are being accepted for a 1^st^ shift Custodian position. This position is responsible for specialized and routine cleaning and maintaining the college's buildings, classrooms, restrooms, labs and offices to ensure the safety, health, and welfare of the students, faculty, staff and the general public.

Normal Weekly Hours: Full time 40 for 12 months per year. Work hours between 4:00 a.m. -- 3:30p.m. Hours will vary due to operational situations. Custodial coverage of the college is variable according to class schedules as determined at the start of each semester.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Responsible for both routine and deep clean of all areas within the college, including lobbies, offices, corridors, elevators, stairways, classrooms, entrances, and restrooms. Cleaning may include, but not limited to, total wipe down of all surfaces, power scrubbing all resilient floors, vacuuming and spot cleaning carpets, window washing, dusting, and emptying trash.

2. Run and maintain specialized power equipment for carpet cleaning and floor maintenance.

3. Adhere to established cleaning schedules and procedures. Follow proper chemical handling procedures and wear appropriate safety gear (PPE) when cleaning.

4. Occasionally assist in event set-ups and tear downs for college and community functions.

5. Occasionally assist in removing recycling from designated areas, delivering packages, and the snow removal and salting of walkways when necessary.

6. Create and maintain a safe and secure work environment.

7. Other similar duties as assigned by supervisor.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

*Education and Experience:*

- High School graduate or GED required.

- Previous custodial experience preferred.

*Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*

- Ability to read and understand SDS sheets.

- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques.

- Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

**SUPERVISION EXERCISED**

None.

**RESPONSIBILITY FOR PUBLIC CONTACT**

Daily contact with customers and guests of the college.

Ability to lift 25 lbs., bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
