Under the direction of the principal, to assist students, staff, and others at the public counter; answer telephones, perform record management; track student attendance and maintain the confidentiality of student records; communicate information regarding activities and/or in response to requests; provide for timely and accurate distribution of materials and other related work as required. Provide bilingual services orally and in written form in English and a designated second language (Spanish). Compiles student records (e.g. birth certificates, transfers, immunization, etc.) for the purpose of meeting state, federal and/or district requirements. Operates automated student attendance system and other software as needed for the purpose of accurate tracking and documentation of student attendance information. Prepare and maintain records and reports regarding tardiness, truancy, suspension and discipline. Prepare permits to leave campus, tardy slips and re-admits according to established guidelines. Contact parents by phone and prepare correspondence concerning student absences. Refer serious attendance problems to appropriate personnel according to established procedure. Assist in identifying and resolving problems of students with frequent absenteeism. Performs receptionist duties as assigned and assists students, parents, staff and other office visitors; answers telephones and provides routine information. Enrolls students and enters data on the computer; assists parents in completion of forms, processes transfers, requests records, and establishes student files. Generates, formats, prints, reviews and assures the accuracy of computer lists and reports; reconciles data and distributes reports to appropriate offices. Types a wide variety of materials including forms, reports, cum records, and folders. Administers first aid in accordance with District policy to students in absence of Health Technician.
