Room Service Server

The Sonnenalp Hotel is looking for a Full Timeor Part Time Seasonal Room Service Server This position will be open until 6302025 or until filled Wage1481hour plus tips Primary Purpose of Position The Room Service Server will prepare deliver and service all in room dining orders The Room Service Server is responsible for ensuring that Room Service orders are promptly and accurately delivered Must possess excellent communication skills; fluency in English required Assist guests in a friendly and helping manner Assist with menu questions order taking delivery and any follow up required Provide excellent service while adhering to the standards of the department Essential Duties and Responsibilities Be thoroughly familiar with menus ingredients and methods of preparation for each dish wine list as well as hours of operation for all food and beverage outletsThorough knowledge of the room layout and the property in general Knowledgeable about the resort and its amenitiesCollect orders from the kitchen ensure they have been prepared correctly; and promptly and efficiently deliver to the guests roomFulfill all functions as required by accounting; submit signed checks reconcile daily sales etcAssist with the collection of room service trays and other food and beverage items from the guest rooms Includes proper breakdown of trays and other itemsFamiliar with room service order takers duties and fill that position when neededBe thoroughly familiar with all standards of proper service etiquette and practice these standards throughout the guests dining experience Consistently deliver courteous professional serviceBe aware of all liquor laws as well as company and departmental policies regarding consumption of alcoholic beveragesRelay guest complaints or comments to supervisorAttend all staff meetings and supplemental training sessions Attend pre meal meetings and be aware of daily soup specials and their method of preparationKeep work area and equipment clean and organized at all timesEnsure all equipment is functioning properly; report any problems to the Room Service Captain or Manager immediatelyMaintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that enables getting along with guests vendors co workers and managementResponsible for set up delivery and presentation of VIP and other guest amenitiesTake guests order through the phone according to LHW standardsKeep the room service staging area clean and organizedKeep room service department stockedFollow up with guest issuesMust have complete knowledge of service time menu and specialsClose an operating day and prepare for the followingMust follow proper departmental SOPs as far as fulfilling room service ordersAdhere to all LHW standardsPerform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Food and Beverage or Room Service ManagerEducationExperience High School Diploma or equivalentPrior experience serving preferredSpecial SkillsEquipment Must be extremely organized; able to expedite multiple orders completely and correctlyWork well with food and beverage teammates and support departmentsGood communication essential Must be able to communicate in English fluentlyMust be motivated and a self starterFriendly warm and enthusiastic personality requiredFluent English and some Spanish helpfulWine and food knowledge preferredSquirrel POS system knowledge helpfulPrevious room service or restaurant server experience in a luxury property preferredEssential Physical Requirements Ability to lift 25 lbsPhysical requirements include the ability to work long hoursExerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionallyAbility to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects ability to multi taskAbility to bend stretch twist or reach with your body and arms work under variable temperatures and noise levelsNear Vision The ability to see details at close rangeAbility to stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaningAbility to hear and talk over the phone and radioBenefits Resort DiscountsHoliday Pay & Sick Pay401k Retirement Plan & Roth 401k After one year and 1000 hours workedEmployee Assistance ProgramParking Credit or Discounted Bus PassesEmployee MealEmployee Conduct It is the responsibility of every employee to contribute to a positive work environment through cooperative and professional interactions with co workers guests and vendorsBy applying for this position you are acknowledging that you understand and agree with the job duties and requirements listed above This constitutes as an acknowledgment of the official job description for the position
