Position Overview:
MP Materials is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to support our Facilities and Maintenance Department at the Fort Worth Magnetics facility. The Custodian plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of all areas throughout the facility, including production zones, offices, laboratories, and common spaces. This position requires the ability to work independently, follow safety procedures, and ensure an organized and hygienic environment in support of high-performance manufacturing operations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform daily and periodic cleaning in offices, breakrooms, restrooms, and production areas.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and dust surfaces including floors, ledges, machinery surrounds, and walkways.
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces and replenish restroom and sanitation supplies.
- Remove and properly dispose of general and industrial waste following facility safety guidelines.
- Support light maintenance activities, such as changing filters and replacing light bulbs.
- Assist with spill response and cleanup involving oils, lubricants, and other shop related materials.
- Keep janitorial supply closets clean and organized; report low inventory or supply needs.
- Assist with meeting setup, furniture rearrangement, and equipment transport as needed.
- Perform snow/ice removal, entry cleaning, and maintain outdoor walkways and docks.
- Support 5S and safety inspections by maintaining clean and obstruction-free work areas.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as auto scrubbers, vacuums, and floor buffers safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with maintenance and safety teams to meet facility cleanliness and compliance goals.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 6+ months of experience in custodial, janitorial, or industrial housekeeping roles preferred.
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and basic hand tools.
- Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and safe chemical handling procedures.
- Able to work independently and follow written or verbal instructions.
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and using stairs throughout shift.
- Availability to work flexible shifts including occasional weekends, holidays, or overtime as required.
