Custodian Leadworker

LC State invites applications for the position of Custodian Leadworker.

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $17.50 - $18.00 per hour

Required Qualifications:

• Good knowledge of: the methods, materials, and equipment used in heavy-duty custodial work including related safety practices; cleaning agents and related products and their possible reactions.
• Some knowledge of: supervisory practices; sanitation and infection control; training methods used in custodial work.
• Experience: operating industrial-type high-speed cleaning equipment; performing minor maintenance on custodial equipment; using hand tools to repair cleaning equipment; explaining the use and maintenance of custodial equipment.
• Demonstrated reliability/dependability through work history or references
• Demonstrated attitude toward customer satisfaction and continuous quality service improvement
• Experience in working in a team-cleaning environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Supervision of and provide direction to seasonal workers.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals

Responsibilities:

This position cleans residence halls, including bathrooms and showers, common area spaces, kitchens, and laundry rooms during the academic year, and supervises and works alongside a cleaning crew to clean every residence hall bedroom in the summer to prepare them for summer conferences and August move-in for the next academic year.

Duties associated with commercial cleaning, including operating industrial-type cleaning equipment such as high-speed buffers and vacuum cleaners; cleaning restrooms, bath/shower facilities, and similar; moving heavy items such as tables, chairs; and repairing the equipment and related devices.

Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
