The City of Lake Worth Beach invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of Cashier / Golf Shop - PT .
This is a Part-Time, Permanent position based on a 29-hour work week with an hourly rate of $16.92.
The position is non-bargaining. The individual in this position will work at the Golf Course located at One 7 th Avenue North, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460.
Part-Time employees are not eligible for the City’s health and benefit plans at this time.
JOB SUMMARY:
Receives funds from customers and employees of the Golf complex, including the golf / pro shop. Disburses funds, and records monetary transactions in a place of public accommodation by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promptly greet course and shop customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Receive cash or checks and other monetary transactions
- Count money to verify amounts and issue receipts for funds received
- Compare totals on cash register with the amount of currency in register to verify balances
- Endorse checks and list and totals cash and checks for bank deposit
- Prepare bank deposit slips
- Multi-task answering telephone, booking tee times, assisting customers in the golf shop and checking in people for daily rounds of play
- Coordinate with the Starter or casual laborer to ensure on time golf departure
- Assist with opening and closing golf shop
- Maintain a clean pro shop with dusting and organizing merchandise
- Assist with sales of golf shop merchandise
- Assist with coordination of league groups and events
- Create folders and maintain files of records of expenditures
- Withdraw cash from bank accounts and keeps custody of cash fund
- Assist in the disbursement of cash and write vouchers and checks in payment of company expenditures
- Compile collection, disbursement, and bank reconciliation reports
- Assist patrons with requests and general golf course information
- Operate office machines: computer terminal, PC, adding machine, calculator, check-writing machines
- Maintain payroll records, time sheets, sick leave and insurance records

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or General education degree (GED); one year experience in bookkeeping related experience and or maintenance or fiscal records or equivalent combination of education and experience. General golf knowledge.
All full-time employees are considered critical in response to emergency situations and may be deemed essential as needed depending on the situation.
Employees in this position will be required to complete the FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Certification Levels 100, 200, 700 and 800 within the first six months of employment. Certain positions may be required to attain additional ICS training as needed.
