Crystal Bridges is a museum of American art located in Bentonville, Arkansas. We explore the unfolding story of America by actively collecting, exhibiting, interpreting, and preserving outstanding works that illuminate the American heritage and artistic possibilities. Founded by Alice Walton in 2005, the museum opened in 2011 and is a public, non-profit charitable organization with free admission.
The Momentary is a new contemporary art space that opened to the public on February 22, 2020, in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas. A satellite to Crystal Bridges, the Momentary presents visual, performing, and culinary arts. The mission of the Momentary is to champion contemporary arts role in everyday life and explore the unfolding story of contemporary American arts in an international context by actively commissioning and exhibiting outstanding works that explore new ideas and inspire action.
Position Summary:
The FOH (Front of House) Team Member, Hospitality is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily FOH operations during assigned shifts, ensuring seamless service across all roles, including Lunch Server, Dinner Server, Barista, Bartender, and Event Server. This position plays a key role in maintaining service standards, supporting team members, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
The FOH Team Member assists in tasks, addressing guest inquiries or concerns, and ensuring proper communication between FOH and BOH (Back of House) teams. They also participate in service roles as needed to support operations, whether preparing beverages, serving meals, or assisting at events. The FOH Team Member is a hands-on person who fosters a positive work environment, upholds health and safety standards, and ensures team readiness to adapt to changing guest needs. The Bartender and Barista must be 21 years of age.
This role is key in delivering exceptional guest experiences while sharing responsibility for hospitality operations campus-wide across multiple locations and contributing to the Museums mission. Your work will help create memorable moments for every guest.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Maintain thorough knowledge of restaurants hours of operation, services, menus, specials, and Hospitality first to our guests.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety in both lobby and dining areas.
- Complete all assigned opening and closing duties as required and provide accountable opening and closing duty roster and checklist completion.
- Ensuring all service roles (lunch, dinner, barista, bartender, and event servers) are coordinated effectively.
- Provide direct support by stepping into service roles as needed, including serving, bartending, or barista duties.
- Monitor and maintain service quality, ensuring prompt, courteous, and professional interactions with guests.
- Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
- Ensure team adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as company policies.
- Collaborate with BOH staff to ensure smooth coordination and timely delivery of food and beverages.
- Prepare and monitor shift schedules, ensuring adequate staffing for all FOH roles.
- Support event operations by assisting in setup, service, and teardown to ensure smooth execution.
- Perform additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by Management.
Other Duties:
- Welcome guests with enthusiasm in a timely manner.
- Describe specials and suggest items on the menu.
- Assist with questions and decisions regarding the menu.
- Accurately take beverage and food orders.
- Utilize Point of Sale systems effectively.
- Ensure that all food and beverages are prepared properly and are delivered in a timely manner by communicating and working with other members of staff.
- Provide refills and pre-bussing.
- Continually observe guests and provide service complimentary to their needs.
- Total guests bill and accept and process payments.
- Have strong money handling skills.
- Show appreciation to guests as they leave.
- Work as a team with hosts, servers, service assistants, and manager by providing assistance as needed.
- Setup and breakdown of dining room.
- Be able to perform wine service at the table.
- Have a strong knowledge of alcohol service.
- Have a strong knowledge of coffee service and upscale barista functions.
- Be able to carry service trays for both beverages and plated food.
Education, Training, and Traits:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Excellent people skills and an outgoing personality
- Possess a strong commitment to customer service
- First-hand knowledge of service steps and dining room procedures
Work Experience:
- Experience with customer service in a hospitality environment
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends, holidays, and evenings
- Must be able to move quickly, stand, bend, and lift for periods of up to 4 hours
- Ability to carry large, heavy trays
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain professionalism with both co-workers and Museum Guests
- Possess strong organizational, problem solving, and time management skills

Occasionally, while performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to independently travel in the local area.
- Work Environment: The physical arrangement of the work space may require the position to work in a variety of Museum spaces. Work space must be organized and reflect efficiency. The noise level in the dining environment is usually moderate.
