As a Cook at MercyOne, you will prepare high quality, safe foods for staff, visitors, patients, customers and physicians. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of MercyOne.

  • Prepares food according to guidelines.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Operates, cleans and sanitizes equipment.
  • Supplies high quality and attractive food
  • Assists supervisor in ordering JIT foods/supplies.

Schedule:

  • Varied schedule (6:00 am - 2:30 pm and 10:30 am - 7:00 pm) weekend and holiday rotation

General Requirements:

  • Culinary arts training preferred.
  • Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.
  • Serv safe certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with large quantity cooking/baking.
  • Basic language, intermediate math, intermediate reasoning ability.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to follow recipes.
  • Ability to work as a team and interact politely with all customers and peers.

Education:

  • High School diploma preferred but not required.
