The Housekeeper will be working around and with staff and clients in the performance of a variety of tasks in the care and cleaning of offices, restrooms, meeting rooms, break rooms, and public areas.
- Gathers and empty trash.
- Maintains bathroom areas in a sanitary state and refills restroom dispensers including replenishing paper supplies and soap.
- Responds to clean-up after situations of sickness or injury including blood, vomit, human excrement, and/or other bodily fluids.
- Polices parking area and sidewalks for trash.
- Safely blocks area of spills and cleans up spills to ensure safe transition of clients and staff throughout building and adjacent sidewalks.
- Gather paper stored for shredding and deposits in designated shred bins.
- Ensure shredded bins remain secure.
- Turn shred bins over to authorized shredding contractor for shredding and disposal.
- Clean building floors by sweeping mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Follows manufacturers procedures for the mix and use of detergents and cleaners.
- Follows manufacturers instructions for the use of equipment and tools both non-powered and powered.
- Assist in monitoring building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking/unlocking doors and checking electrical appliances to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
- Set up, arrange, and remove tables and chairs to prepare facilities for meetings.
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware and metal instruments.
- Deliver and store larger quantities of housekeeping and/or office supplies.
- Shovels snow from walks and drives.
- Duties may include physically strenuous activities such as moving furniture.
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures.
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential. The housekeeper must be available to perform essential functions of the job to ensure a healthy, safe, and productive workplace for clients and staff. This position will perform other related work as assigned. Hours : 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
