The Busser is responsible for clearing and resetting tables, assisting servers, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining area. This position supports a smooth and efficient dining experience through courteous, professional, and attentive service.

Essential Job Functions

This description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications. The job description is not intended to include all duties or qualifications that may be required now or in the future. The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

  • Promptly clear dirty table settings and reset tables with clean service ware.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room in accordance with hotel and health department standards.

  • Stock and maintain service stations with silverware, linens, condiments, and other supplies.

  • Greet guests as needed and provide water, bread, or additional service when appropriate.

  • Replenish beverages, breads, and other items during the meal service as needed.

  • Assist servers in delivering food, pre-bussing tables, and addressing guest needs.

  • Transport dirty tableware from the dining room to the dishwashing area promptly.

  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products.

  • Roll silverware and fold napkins throughout the day to maintain supply levels.

  • Respond to spills, unexpected messes, and special guest requests to ensure guest satisfaction.

  • Follow all company safety, sanitation, and operational policies and procedures.

  • Know and follow fire prevention and emergency response procedures.

  • Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, or property damage to supervisor/manager.

  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance in accordance with company grooming standards.

  • Assist other restaurant staff as needed to ensure excellent service and efficient operations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, including proper table settings and serviceware.

  • Ability to follow instructions, including product labeling and cleaning procedures.

  • Basic English communication skills to understand guest needs and communicate clearly.

  • Current Food Handler Card or in the process of certification.

  • Understanding of liquor laws and restrictions on service to minors or intoxicated guests.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.

  • Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs using a cart or hand truck.

  • Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
