Next Stop Vegan is a vibrant, Latin-Caribbean inspired plant-based restaurant rooted in culture, community, and flavor. We're looking for a proactive and experienced Front of House Manager to lead our Brooklyn Heights team, drive exceptional guest experiences, and uphold our high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Team Leadership
Lead daily FOH operations with a strong, visible floor presence
Ensure an exceptional and consistent customer experience from entry to exit
Handle guest concerns and feedback with professionalism and hospitality
Hire, onboard, and train new FOH team members
Motivate and guide staff with regular coaching and support
Enforce policies and disciplinary actions when needed
Manage employee appearance, uniforms, and professionalism standards
Scheduling, Admin & Operations
Create and manage weekly FOH schedules
Monitor time and attendance, approve hours, and maintain shift coverage
Maintain and update employee bulletin board with schedules, announcements, and HR notices
Run an internal employee recognition program to boost morale and team culture
Handle menu and signage printing, POS updates, and light administrative tasks
Oversee the organization of FOH storage areas and employee lockers
Inventory, Beverage Program & Compliance
Manage FOH inventory (service items, supplies, barware, disposables, etc.)
Oversee beer and wine service operations, ensuring compliance with NYC laws
Track alcohol inventory and assist with ordering and reporting
Collaborate on seasonal beverage creations (sangrias, spritzes, mocktails)
Ensure all staff follow age verification and alcohol service protocol
Cleanliness & Safety
Ensure the dining area, FOH stations, bathrooms, and entrances remain clean, organized, and welcoming.
Set schedule for front of house cleaning staff restroom
Monitor compliance with DOH and safety regulations
Uphold sanitation standards across all FOH touchpoints
Ensure assignment of lockers for all staff
What Were Looking For:
12+ years of FOH management or leadership experience
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
A passion for food, hospitality, and team building
Creative energy and attention to detail
Comfortable with admin duties and problem-solving under pressure
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
POS system experience and proficiency with basic computer software.
A passion for plant-based, Latin, and Caribbean cuisine is a plus.
NYC Food Handlers License (required or must obtain within 30 days)
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
